Rickard Luckin is a prominent chartered accountants & tax advisors firm based in Chelmsford that Spacio previously worked with on their Southend Office; they already trusted and were confident in what the Spacio team could offer.

For their new 10,000 sq ft site in Chelmsford, they returned to us to create a space that mirrors their company’s vision, values, and personality – a place where they can warmly invite clients.

Creating a space that reflects the brand

Rickard Luckin’s new 10,000 sq ft Chelmsford office presented the chance to showcase a workspace that truly reflected who they are as a business. Having already partnered with Spacio on their Southend site, the firm returned to create a space that felt professional, welcoming, and aligned to their values.

The brief centred on blending brand personality with staff wellbeing. The space needed to support more collaboration, offer clearer separation between work and breakout areas, and subtly integrate their distinctive navy brand palette. With a blank canvas to work from, the challenge was to design an environment that felt modern and vibrant while maintaining the warmth and professionalism required for client visits.

Rickard Luckin Accountants & Tax Advisors is a large company known for putting its employees first, so they wanted us to deliver a space that had staff wellbeing at its core. The Spacio team needed to include their distinctive navy blue brand colour in a design that allowed for better collaboration while providing a separate space where employees would feel like they were genuinely having a break.

The client had outgrown their existing, outdated space and wanted their new Chelmsford location to be vibrant, supportive to staff and reflective of the company’s high-level services. The new site offered our team a blank canvas, across which they created a bright, well-lit aesthetic adorned in a rich navy blue colour scheme that shouts professionalism when you enter the building.

To complement the modern primary theme, we added glass partitions that maximise daylight and reduce the need for powered lighting. Additionally, grey and white-toned flooring was used, beautifully contrasted by a comfortable seating arrangement in meeting rooms and booths – providing the ideal setting for relaxation and teamwork in breakout areas.

Rickard Luckin employees found collaboration more difficult in their old space than it should be, impacting productivity. Moreover, the separation between work and rest areas needed to be more distinctive – with the required vibrancy absent. As such, it did not fully reflect the company’s ethos, values and desire to cater to the physical well-being of their employees.

Rickard Luckin’s office space is vibrant and relaxing, accentuated with a consistent colour scheme and indoor plants for an ambient feel. With sleek-lined meeting room furniture and American ‘Diner-Style’ breakout booths, it caters to everyone’s needs. This creates a professional, welcoming environment for the staff and visitors.

This Rickard Luckin branch is fortunate enough to be near the sea, giving us the opportunity to feature a giant mural of the Southend beachfront as the main focus piece in the boardroom. In addition, we used a beached wood effect in the breakout area, incorporating that seaside feel – giving this project the individuality it desired.

Rickard Luckin’s Southend office now offers everything staff need for collaboration, growth and optimal productivity. From the moment you arrive, a consistent, bold, modern aesthetic hits you, delivering a fantastic first impression.

The client was delighted with the final outcome, and we were too.

“Spacio has that vibe that they really care about the work they’re doing and their customers.”
