Spacio Talks: Home Office Inspiration
How to create a productive and comfortable working from home environment.
As Covid-19 takes grip and businesses are forced to temporarily shut down to protect employees health and wellbeing, working from home is soon becoming the new normal for many. Having to adapt to a new environment without a designated space/home office to work from can make you less productive and demotivated, not to mention the physical effects it can have on your posture, especially if you’ve chosen the sofa as your designated office chair for the foreseeable.
Before we share our inspiration with you, as design experts – we would always suggest incorporating home ergonomics into your home office set up. This will make you feel more productive and comfortable, whilst improving efficiency and preventing you from any stress or injury. We will have a whole feature on this in a couple of weeks’ time, so make sure you stay tuned!
In the meantime, we’ve found a great home assessment you can do to help you set up your work station correctly – let us know how you get on!
From storage solutions, to soft neutrals and floating desks, we’ve scrolled through Pinterest and Instagram to bring you some of our favourite work from home offices to inspire your working from home set up.
Stylish storage
Stylish storage is the key to a clutter-free and productive space. Below are some storage ideas to help keep your desk organised. From drawer space to storage baskets, office pegboard and modern shelving, saving space has never looked so chic!
Small Spaces
If you live in a small space, creating the ultimate workspace is not always easy. If you have minimal space to work with, it’s time to start thinking creatively and find out how to maximise your wall space. That’s where floating and ladder desks come in. We love how these desks can fit in the tiniest of spots, whilst still adding a stylish flair. Here are some of our favourites:
Bedroom offices
Having a desk in your bedroom can work if you’re tight on space, although it’s not recommended. It’s important to try and make a conscious effort to keep your relaxing areas separate from your working space. If you do have to work in your bedroom however, adjusting your desk positioning near a window will let all the natural lighting in, which has so many benefits to a positive working experience. For a temporary quick fix, if you have a dressing table, you could double this up as an office. Are you ready to be inspired by some of these creative bedroom offices?
Bringing your workspace to life with plants
From hanging plants to a heavenly oasis, there’s no better way to personalise your working from home space than with plants. Adding greenery to your space instantly connects you to nature, bringing happiness to your working day. Not only do plants add style to your workspace, but studies have also shown increased productivity and air purifying benefits. We recently wrote a piece on the benefits of plants in the office!
Lift your mood with colour blocking
If you’re already set up to work from home but want to spruce the room up a bit – colour blocking could be for you! Not only can colours lift your mood, but it also looks super sleek, whilst injecting your personality into your workspace. Here are some of our favourite colour blocking combinations:
Keep it simple, keep it minimal
